Alessio Picariello wants to have another crack at the Formel ADAC championship in 2013 but has decided to try his fortune elsewhere, switching from G&J/Schiller Motorsport to the rival Mücke outfit. Berlin-based Mücke Motorsport will be entering no fewer than six cars for the opening race of the season at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on 26th April. In addition to Picariello, the Mücke squad includes Hendrik Grapp, also contesting his second year in the series, and four rookies: Maximilian Günther, Luis Kim Schramm, Giorgio Maggi and David Detmers.
Picariello made a strong impression in his Formel ADAC debut season, winning two races, one at the Nürburgring and the other at the Red Bull Ring; he also secured two pole positions. His total of five podium finishes was enough to see him finish the season in sixth place overall.
The 2013 Formel ADAC season promises an intriguing mix of experienced drivers and newcomers, all eager to make their mark over the course of the eight race weekends. Picariello is one of seven drivers who already have an established reputation in the series.
